Grill accessories tested
Eugen's Grill Tip: Grill Accessories Tested There are all sorts of different barbecue accessories on the market. Do you really need them? Eugen took a closer look at three different accessories. Cooking hood Grilling with a cooking hood – is it necessary? Eugen says: yes and no. Of course, this is an optional accessory, and many grills already have a hood, which is ideal for smoking, gentle cooking, or keeping food warm. However, with plancha grills, it offers the option of steam cooking. This is particularly gentle, and the grilled food stays very juicy. Definitely recommended for advanced grillers and plancha enthusiasts. pizza stone As delicious as in Bella Italia! That's what we all want from our homemade pizza. It should turn out especially well on a pizza stone , which is now also available for grills. But is that true? The simple answer: Yes! The pizza stone absorbs the heat from the grill, stores it, and then distributes it evenly to the pizza. It's important that the pizza stone is heated thoroughly for around 30 minutes, until it reaches a temperature of approximately 300 to 350 degrees Celsius. A little flour under the pizza prevents the dough from sticking. Close the grill lid, and after about 5-7 minutes, the pizza is ready. Highly recommended! Lava stones Lava rocks in a gas grill are designed to ensure even heat distribution. They are placed on a separate grate between the flame and the grill grate and heat up when the grill is turned on. The juices dripping onto the hot stones add extra flavor. The disadvantage: This type of grilling can only be used with suitable grills, and the stones must be thoroughly cleaned at least once a year, for example, by boiling them in vinegar. Eugen's conclusion: It's a matter of taste. Fans of indirect grilling can achieve a similar effect faster and easier with a grill or plancha plate.

Bring a piece of vacation home: Grill like in Southern Europe! Fresh fish, succulent vegetables, olive oil, crusty bread—it's enough to make your mouth water. We'll show you how to bring a piece of Southern Europe home with your grill. The plancha Plancha grilling is perfect for capturing the typical flavors of Southern Europe. The plancha originated in Spain, and the term refers to a griddle that was once simply placed over the embers. The advantage: It allows you to prepare meals for a large number of people. The griddle also gets very hot, which speeds up the cooking process and helps preserve important nutrients. Additional fat can also be largely dispensed with, making plancha grilling a very healthy option. The right grill For plancha grilling, you first need a grill with a plancha plate! There are several options: either a dedicated plancha grill like our Master Plancha EX, or the plancha plate as a separate accessory. Our premium plancha plate from the Culinary Modular System, for example, is suitable for all models of the 3 & 4 Master Series and 3 & 4 Series Classic or Woody. If you're short on space, many of our Party Grill models come with a reversible grill plate included. It can also be used as a mini plancha. How it works Fish, shrimp, and vegetables are ideal for cooking on a plancha grill. The high temperatures of the grill plate ensure a good browning on the outside, while the food still remains nice and juicy. Especially with meat, you should not cut the individual pieces too thickly – otherwise, you can easily end up with browned outside but not cooked on the inside. This is especially important to avoid with poultry. Otherwise, there are no limits to your creativity: most planchas have a practical drain with a drip tray, so you can pour marinades or other liquids over the food during cooking. This creates a true explosion of flavor. Indirect grilling means nothing drips into the flames, and no toxic substances are produced. Cleaning made easy Thanks to its coating, our plancha is very easy to clean: Simply pour some water onto the still-hot plancha plate and, using a spatula, push the food residue and grease into the spout. Then empty the drip tray and clean it in the dishwasher. Ice cubes, however, are taboo: This can cause thermal shock, which can damage the plancha's enamel. You can find delicious recipes and everything you need for plancha grilling in our online shop. Get inspired – how about our delicious grilled octopus , for example? More info.
Learn moreSummertime is festival time!
Summertime is festival time! Whether rock, pop, alternative, or electronic music – festivals are simply brilliant for celebrating the summer with friends and lots of good music! Of course, the culinary side of things shouldn't be neglected. Compact grills like our handy yet powerful Party Grill are perfect for conjuring up truly amazing dishes quickly, inexpensively, and without any hassle. Here are our three top tips for all-around good vibes in the festival kitchen: 1. Which grill would you like? How much space do I have in the trunk or in the camper van for the grill? How many people do I need to feed? Is the campsite accessible by car or does equipment like tents and the like have to be carried there? These are important questions for finding the right grill. You're on the safe side with our Party Grills , which are not only easy to transport, but also quick to set up and particularly versatile - even as a camping stove. Depending on the model, the grill comes with a range of accessories that can be easily stored inside. Despite its handy dimensions, you can prepare great delicacies for up to four people. If you prefer something a little bigger, the Attitude 2go CV is a good choice. But the 360 Grill CV is also a powerful companion on the go. 2. Camper or tent kitchen? Most caravans or motorhomes have a small kitchenette. Still, barbecuing together outdoors is simply the most fun, right? If you want to remain flexible, the Party Grill 400 Caravan is a great choice. It features a 30 mbar caravan connection. This means only one gas cylinder is required, allowing you to grill and cook outdoors in no time. It can be used both as a grill and, with the pot holder, as a camping stove. The lid can also be used as a wok. Thanks to the water tray as a grease collection system, this handy all-rounder is quick to clean after use. For all tent campers, the party gas grills with their easy-to-connect valve cartridges from the CV Plus line are an ideal solution. They feature a self-sealing system, allowing them to be removed and reattached from the unit, even if they're not completely empty. These cartridges are permitted on most festival campsites, although this isn't always the case for large gas cylinders. A key advantage of gas grills: no heating, no coal to cool down, and no ash to dispose of, thus reducing the risk of fire. Simply turn them on, start grilling, turn them off, and stow them away again – done! 3. Food storage Caravans and camper vans usually have an electric refrigerator to keep grilled food fresh. But even here, space can be tight if drinks also need to be chilled. The solution: additional electric cool boxes . If you're camping, you'll have to do without a refrigerator - unless you have a solar panel, because generators are taboo at most festivals due to the noise they make. You can either buy fresh grilled food on site or use a passive cool box to keep it cool for around 15 hours, and the 60QT Performance Wheeled even up to three days. Thanks to the built-in cup recesses, the latter also serves as a drinks table - super practical! Canned goods are a bit more useful here, as they don't need to be refrigerated. Need more gear for your perfect festival? Then be sure to check out our online shop. In addition to grills and accessories, you'll also find tents, lamps, coolers, and much more. Learn morePacking list for your camping holiday
Packing list for your camping holiday Camping packing list: With these essentials you are ready for your next camping adventure Camping season is just around the corner! With our camping packing list, you'll be ready for your next camping trip! What should you absolutely have in mind to fully enjoy the tranquility of nature? Whether it's a tent, sleeping bag, gas grill, or emergency gear—in this article, you'll find all the essentials you need for your next camping trip. Tent – there’s something for everyone For campers traveling without a motorhome or caravan, a reliable tent is essential! It offers protection from wind, weather, and, last but not least, insects. To ensure your tent is spacious enough, it's a good idea to choose a larger model. If you're traveling with two people, a three-person tent is best. Late risers and those sensitive to light are best served by a Coleman tent with BlackOut Bedroom™ technology. Especially for longer camping trips, it's a good idea to choose a larger tent with separate sleeping and living areas. This provides a sheltered spot in bad weather. Don't forget to pack a hammer—otherwise, it will be difficult to peg the tent! Without an air mattress it will be uncomfortable Camping doesn't mean having to forgo a good night's sleep! To ensure nights in a tent don't become torture, you need the right equipment. An air mattress is the best choice for ensuring a good night's rest at the campsite. For those who want to make things extra cozy, it's best to pack a fitted sheet for the air mattress. Important: Don't forget your air pump and always check that all the valves are still connected! Sleeping bag – because nobody likes to freeze Even in summer, it can get really cold at night, especially when you're hiking in the mountains. But don't worry, with the right sleeping bag, you won't have to freeze! A Coleman blanket sleeping bag offers extra space and can easily be used as a blanket if it gets too warm. Camping chairs are indispensable Whether you're sitting around the campfire or just want to relax and read a book, you need one to make yourself comfortable at camp! Especially luxurious models also have a cup holder and even a practical storage area. Most camping chairs are foldable and easy to transport. They're also made of robust, weather-resistant material and can be left out in the rain without a problem. Camping cuisine: gas grill Grilling and camping simply belong together! With a portable gas grill, you can conjure up delicious meals even in the great outdoors. Especially practical: The grills from the Campingaz Party Grill™ line are not only perfect for grilling, but can also be used as a gas stove and, thanks to the lid, can even be used like an oven. Flip the lid over and you have a wok ready for use! Cooler box – always fresh on the go A good cooler is a fundamental part of camping equipment. It keeps grilled food, drinks, and everything else you need for a tasty camping meal cool. If you want to be popular with your neighbors at the campsite, you should opt for an electric cooler with a quiet night mode. Even if you don't have electricity at the campsite, you can keep your drinks and food fresh with a passive cooler. Unlike actively cooled versions powered by electricity, your food stays fresh thanks to their special, thermally insulated construction. They work best when combined with ice-cold ice packs. Let there be light To find your way in the dark, you need light! A proper camping lamp makes camp especially cozy at night. It's also a good idea to pack a headlamp for the nighttime walk to the washroom. Safety first, a first aid kit is a must! Even if it's ideally never needed, a first aid kit should be with you on every outdoor activity. In addition to bandages, gauze pads, first aid bandages, and safety pins, such a kit should also contain small scissors, tweezers, and alcohol wipes or other disinfectant. If you have room, you can also pack an emergency blanket and some cough drops. Since you often spend the entire day outdoors while camping, it's especially important to have sunscreen with a high SPF. Prepared for everything: camping toilet If there aren't any restrooms nearby, or if you simply need to use them urgently, it's good to be prepared. With a portable camping toilet, you don't have to go without your own private restroom even on your camping trip. A well-thought-out packing list is the key to a successful camping adventure! With the right essentials, you'll be prepared for unforeseen situations, and nothing will stand in the way of a stress-free outdoor vacation. Whether you're traveling alone or with family and friends, a well-organized packing list will help you make the most of your outdoor adventure.

Learn moreGlamping with Campingaz
Camping becomes glamping – no such thing as old-fashioned Taking the whole family and their caravan to the mountains or Lake Garda – beaded curtains and folding chairs with questionable colors included. That's what the camping cliché used to look like. But it wasn't just since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic that camping has become a true leisure lifestyle. Where people once turned up their noses, influencers now post spectacular photos from their stylish travel vans. Glamorous camping – or glamping for short – is the name given to this phenomenon, where not only the outdoor experience is the focus, but style and comfort also play an important role. Glamour sounds expensive at first – but it doesn't have to be! With the right, smart equipment, you can bring a touch of luxury to any family or couples getaway. Time out – pure freedom Traveling in a campervan, motorhome, or caravan offers one thing above all: freedom! Explore the world as you please, unwind, and enjoy time for yourself or with your family. For the ultimate nature experience, you don't always have to sleep at a campsite. But be careful: wild camping isn't permitted everywhere, and of course, you should be considerate of nature and animals and avoid leaving trash behind. The home on four wheels If you don't have a fully equipped camper van in your garage, you can simply rent one. From vans with sleeping accommodation in the alcove to fully equipped motorhomes, many different models are available in various sizes and price ranges. Even smaller vans often offer a kitchenette as well as comfortable seating and sleeping areas. That certain something Those who prefer to experience the outdoors directly at their holiday destination can now find numerous options with exceptional and comfortable accommodations – from luxury tree houses to wooden cabins on the beach to romantic hideaways with private hot tubs. Holiday parks with individual houses or cabins specifically for families with children are tailored to the needs of younger guests, but also leave nothing to be desired for adults. Enjoyment with all senses Currywurst with fries – this classic campsite dish is still available, but thanks to innovative solutions, you no longer have to miss out on versatile and healthy meals while on the go. The grill remains the centerpiece of outdoor cooking. Instead of charcoal, gas grills offer a simple and healthy way to grill fresh and delicious food outdoors. Compact cartridge-powered models, in particular, fit in any trunk, making them easy to transport, quickly ready for use, and low-maintenance – and they also look incredibly stylish. They're particularly long-lasting and can be flexibly dimmed as needed and desired. Practical but stylish – tableware and accessories such as cozy blankets are also part of the glamping adventure. Have you caught the glamping bug? Then let's get started on the adventure. You can find everything you need in our online shop .
Learn moreSummer is coming: How to transport cold drinks properly
Cold drinks: Stay cool – this is how drinks stay nice and cool The grill and lounge chairs are packed – now it's time to start your trip to the lake. On hot summer days, there's nothing better than putting your feet up and enjoying a cold drink. To keep your liquid refreshing and cold for as long as possible, there are a few simple tricks everyone should know. We've compiled the most important information for you in our overview. So, stay cool! 1. Choose the right cooler A quick shopping trip or a day trip to the lake? There's a suitable cooler bag or box for every situation. Coolers are particularly suitable for drinks, as they are particularly sturdy and have thick insulation. A distinction is made between passive and thermoelectric versions. The former keep the interior cool through their insulation alone. The electric versions also have a power connection and also actively cool – especially suitable for long excursions or multi-day camping trips. 2. Preparation pays off It sounds trivial, but it's incredibly useful: If you're planning a trip, you should pre-chill your food and drinks. The best way to do this is to put them in the refrigerator for several hours. You should also always pack ice packs or ice and place them in the freezer compartment or freezer beforehand until they're completely frozen. If you don't have ice or an ice pack handy, you can also fill a PET bottle about halfway with water and then freeze it. Your DIY ice pack is ready. 3. Pack wisely When filling the cooler, it should be packed to the top, with no gaps, if possible. Air heats up faster and thus causes cooling loss. Remember to place heavy bottles at the bottom and securely, or store them where they can't tip over—especially glass bottles. 4. Close the cooler box tightly It's best to check that the lid is still closing properly before filling the cooler. Also, after packing, check that the lid is properly and securely in place. This keeps the air inside nice and cool. This also applies after you've removed food or drinks. And the shorter the cooler is open, the less cold air can escape. So it's better to think about it beforehand and then act quickly. 5. Avoid the sun While you probably enjoy basking in the sun every now and then, your cooler should always be kept in the shade. The higher the outside temperature, the faster the cooler loses its cooling power. You should also avoid storing it in a hot car for extended periods. For longer journeys, we recommend thermoelectric coolers with a 12-volt power supply, which you can easily plug into your car's cigarette lighter. 6. Cooling water may remain Even if it might not be pleasant to touch the cold water, you should not empty the cooling water created by the melting process in the box, as it continues to contribute to cooling the interior. Ready for your next trip. Still don't have the right cooler or cooler bag? Then head over to our Campingaz online shop . Here you'll find a wide selection – from coolers to electric power boxes with up to 36 liters of capacity.

Learn moreEugen's grill tip: Perfect grill accessories
Eugen's grill tip: Perfect grill accessories A good grill is essential—whether you're on the go or at home. If you choose your accessories wisely, you'll be prepared for all culinary eventualities and make your life easier! Here are Eugen's top 5 grill accessories, available in our shop, of course: 1st place: The grill tongs Grill tongs are essentially the extended arm of the grill master. Don't skimp on these and choose a model long enough to keep your hand and arm well away from the hot grill surface. Ergonomic, preferably insulated handles make turning food easier and protect against burns. Stainless steel ensures durability, and the tongs remain rust-free and easy to clean. The finishing touch is a practical loop for quick hanging. 2nd place: The spatula You probably remember it from chemistry class—but this is the larger version of the grill spatula. Ideal for burger patties, fish, or pancakes, especially for plancha grills. This allows you to turn everything without it falling apart. 3rd place: Vegetable basket Who hasn't experienced this before? You place your carefully sliced vegetables on the grate and, whoosh, one of them slips through the grate. For all veggie lovers and those who want to become one, Eugen recommends a stainless steel vegetable basket . Place the vegetables in the basket, season them if desired, drizzle with a little oil, and simply place them on the grate – done. Cleaning is also convenient in the dishwasher. 4th place: Modular system Bratwurst and steak today, pizza tomorrow, and chicken the day after – all with just one grill. Isn't that possible? Yes, it is! A modular system like the Culinary Modular System offers absolute flexibility when it comes to cooking: The base is a grill grate with a round, removable insert. This can be replaced with a wok, grill pan, chicken roaster, or pizza stone. This transforms the grill into an outdoor kitchen! 5th place: The cleaning brush Not Eugen's favorite task, but anyone who grills also has to clean and regularly remove soot and other residue from the grill grate. This is easier with a grill brush . It's important that the brush isn't too small and fits comfortably in the hand – triangular shapes have proven to be effective here. The bristles should be made of a durable material like stainless steel, which is easy to clean and won't rust. This makes cleaning the grill much easier. You can find even more accessories and practical helpers in our webshop!
Learn moreVegetarian Grilling – Trends and Tips
Take it veggie – vegetarian grilling: this is how you enjoy grilling without meat Grilling is known to be an art and a lot of fun with family and friends. But who hasn't experienced it? As a vegetarian or vegan, you're often subjected to ridicule from meat-eaters. But grilling vegetarian food is not only incredibly delicious, but also healthy and sustainable. If you're only thinking of charred corn on the cob, you're wrong – we'll show you how versatile a plant-based diet can be on the grill! What can be put on the grill? When it comes to grilled vegetables, your imagination is unlimited. Classics like zucchini or eggplant slices are incredibly easy and always delicious to prepare. Mushrooms, peppers, onions, and green asparagus also make excellent grilled dishes. Important: Don't slice the vegetables too thinly to avoid burning or becoming mushy. Grilled cheese, feta cheese, fried eggs, and vegetarian burger patties are also ideal for grilling. Pineapple slices, bananas, or even pancakes are perfect for a delicious dessert. This way, you can easily conjure up a fantastic veggie meal! Tip: You can also marinate vegetable slices in a variety of ways. From oil with garlic to a hearty, fiery piri-piri seasoning, with fresh herbs, or even more exotically with curry – the choice is yours. Experimenting is absolutely permitted! To ensure even distribution of the marinade, simply place the sliced vegetables in a freezer bag, add the marinade, and shake vigorously. Done! Stuffings for things like zucchini or mushrooms also make for a delicious change. Bourgeois or not – the accessories The same applies to vegetables as to grilling meat: fat or oil from the marinade should be avoided, if possible, by dripping into the embers or flames of the grill, as even protein-rich vegetable grilled foods or cheese can produce harmful substances. The grilled food should also not become too brown. To prevent this, grill baskets or grill plates are suitable. Another advantage: no vegetable slices slip through the grate. The baskets or plates can often even be cleaned in the dishwasher after grilling, making them very easy to care for. For sustainability reasons, it is best to avoid using aluminum trays. Vegetable skewers are also a visual highlight. Mushrooms, bell peppers, or zucchini are particularly good options. But be careful: cheese or soft vegetables like cherry peppers easily slip off the skewer during cooking. The right grill The fact is: You can also cook vegetables quickly and smoke-free with a gas grill. Small, cartridge-powered models are particularly practical for on-the-go use, as they're lightweight and can be used anywhere without electricity. Many gas grills offer a grill grate as well as a ridged grill plate, ideal for vegetables. Plancha grills are also perfect for gently preparing veggies. Is your mouth already watering? Then take a look at our Campingaz online shop . Here you'll find not only great gas grills, but also the matching accessories and delicious recipe ideas!
Learn moreOur top 3 most beautiful camping lakes in Germany
The top 3 most beautiful camping lakes in Germany Summer, sun, and beach—for many, the perfect vacation. Of course, long-distance destinations have their own special appeal. But Germany also boasts beautiful places and bodies of water worth exploring—ideally with a caravan or camper! Beyond the classics like Lake Constance or Lake Chiemsee, we've compiled a list of three of the most beautiful bathing lakes for you, which are also ideal for camping and barbecues. If you'd like to go directly to the Campingaz summer competition, click here. Number 1: Lake Waginger in Bavaria Let's start with our number one – Lake Waginger in Bavaria. Admittedly, it's not far from Lake Chiemsee, but it's not as crowded. Nestled against a beautiful Alpine panorama, Upper Bavaria's warmest lake is perfect for splashing around: with water temperatures of up to 27°C in summer and excellent water quality, the lake rivals even tropical oceans. Across almost seven square kilometers and with five lidos, the lake is the perfect destination for all ages. For those who don't just want to swim, there are various water sports available, such as boat rentals, stand-up paddleboarding, or fishing. Even off the water, the enchanting landscape invites you to enjoy long hikes or bike rides. There are several campsites along the lake's shores. A particular highlight is the "Strandcamping Waging am See" campsite. This 5-star campsite not only offers pitches right on the shore, but also expressly permits barbecues – at every spot. We say: thumbs up for Chill and Grill at Lake Waginger! Our number 2: Rursee in the Eifel Our number two is located in the Eifel National Park: the Rursee. The reservoir, with an area of 7.83 square kilometers, belongs to the Eifel-Rur Water Association. With a capacity of 203 million cubic meters, it is the second-largest reservoir in Germany by volume. Nestled amidst hills and forests, the meandering lake is the gateway to the North Eifel National Park. For all water lovers, the lake offers four different entry points – from the terraced Woffelsbach Bay, the Einruhr Nature Adventure Pool, the Rurberg Natural Outdoor Pool, and the Eschauel Peninsula, there's something for everyone. The consistently impressive views of the winding lake landscape can be perfectly experienced on foot on a hiking tour, by bike or e-bike, from the water on excursion boats, or even more relaxingly by canoe. The Lutterbach campsite is idyllically located in the climatic health resort of Rurberg, just about 300 meters from the lake. The premium version of the pitch offers not only electricity, water, and sewage connections, but also a separate washroom with shower and toilet. Numerous restaurants tempt you with culinary delights. Or you can simply enjoy the view of the lake and conjure up your very own romantic barbecue evening. Number 3: Mecklenburg and Brandenburg Lakes, Roofensee Everyone knows the Mecklenburg Lake District – but the area surrounding the famous Müritz Lake also boasts numerous bodies of water and natural paradises for those seeking relaxation. One of these lakes is Lake Roofensee. This clear-water lake is part of the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park and is surrounded by extensive forests, moors, and other bodies of water. The neighboring Lake Stechlin, for example, is particularly popular with divers thanks to its clear water and outstanding underwater visibility. There's an idyllically situated campsite on Lake Roofensee itself. It's an ideal starting point for hikes in the diverse forests of Brandenburg or simply to enjoy nature in peace. The diversity of the different lakes is best explored, how could it be otherwise, by campervan or "lake hopping." If you're now keen to explore Germany's lakes, you'll find the right camping equipment in our online shop.
