How it works
Fish, shrimp, and vegetables are ideal for cooking on a plancha grill. The high temperatures of the grill plate ensure a good browning on the outside, while the food still remains nice and juicy. Especially with meat, you should not cut the individual pieces too thickly – otherwise, you can easily end up with browned outside but not cooked on the inside. This is especially important to avoid with poultry. Otherwise, there are no limits to your creativity: most planchas have a practical drain with a drip tray, so you can pour marinades or other liquids over the food during cooking. This creates a true explosion of flavor. Indirect grilling means nothing drips into the flames, and no toxic substances are produced.
Cleaning made easy
Thanks to its coating, our plancha is very easy to clean: Simply pour some water onto the still-hot plancha plate and, using a spatula, push the food residue and grease into the spout. Then empty the drip tray and clean it in the dishwasher. Ice cubes, however, are taboo: This can cause thermal shock, which can damage the plancha's enamel.
