What you need to know about refilling
What you need to know about refilling
Please observe the safety precautions when using our Campingaz® cartridges and cylinders.
You are strongly advised to follow our instructions and disregard images, videos, and presentations depicting Campingaz® cartridge or cylinder refills under harmful conditions. The content of these recordings may be inappropriate and promote dangerous activities that carry an inherent risk of serious injury or death, and whose purpose cannot in any way be classified as educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic.
Cartridges – NOT REFILLABLE
The risk of refilling is damage to the valve, which could lead to a gas leak. The valve is designed for a single fill during production and is not intended for repeated use; overfilling could potentially lead to explosions.
Cylinders – refilling under strict conditions
Campingaz's refilling process includes systematic maintenance of each cylinder, carefully restoring it to its original condition before it is released back into the market. We individually inspect, test, repair, and paint each cylinder according to strict specifications, including mandatory safety standards.
Gas is a highly flammable product that can be dangerous. Cylinders are designed for use in camping and outdoor areas, where they are often exposed to sun, wind, or rain for extended periods, which underscores the need for thorough inspection during each refill. To guarantee consumers the highest quality and safety standards, we perform the refilling process (with the correct gas composition and weight) under a series of conditions with qualified personnel and appropriate resources. This maintenance is clearly evident not only in the cylinder's good condition but also in the proper seal at the top. For the reasons stated above, you will certainly understand that any encouragement to fill Campingaz® brand cylinders outside the approved process violates basic quality and safety rules.

Close and open the control valve and check if this resolves the problem. There may also be contaminants or residue in the generator. Clean and, if necessary, replace the generator. Make sure you are using the correct gasoline for the unit. Use only Coleman Dual Fuel or unleaded gasoline.
My petrol stove continues to burn even though I turned off the control valve.

Gas grills
Why are parts of my grill rusting?
Why are parts of my grill rusting?
Some parts of the grill are not made of stainless steel and are not painted. If the grill is stored outdoors, these parts may develop light rust. This does not affect the functionality of the grill or constitute grounds for a complaint.
To better protect your grill from the elements, we recommend you buy the appropriate cover from Campingaz.
General handling of gas grills
General handling of gas grills
Gas grills are very safe to use if you follow a few rules.
Whenever a gas cylinder is reconnected, the connections to the hose and regulator should be checked for leaks. Apply a soapy solution to the connections and, with the gas cylinder valve open, check for bubbles. If bubbles form, tighten them again. If bubbles still appear, contact customer service.
The hose should also be checked regularly for signs of porosity or brittleness. If so, replace it immediately.
The grease collection trays must be emptied and cleaned regularly to prevent the grease from igniting.
After each use of the grill, turn off the gas regulators on the grill and the valve of the gas cylinder.
Cleaning a gas grill
Cleaning a gas grill
The 3 & 4 Series grills already feature the Campingaz InstaClean system. This allows the grill pan, burner covers, and grill grates to be removed and simply placed in the dishwasher. This provides effective and quick cleaning.
Alternatively, all Campingaz grills have a lid that is ideal for cleaning the grill grate using pyrolysis. Simply close the lid and burn off the ash under high heat until the grill grate is covered with ash. Wait until the grill grate has cooled down and then simply brush it clean with a brass or stainless steel brush from our range.
For all porcelain-enameled parts or aluminum die-cast parts, cleaning with a degreaser or soapy water and a sponge is easily possible.
If the grill is used frequently, it should be cleaned approximately once a month. This can also help prevent grease fires. In addition, the grease drip trays should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent.
Our tip: Line the grease trays of your grill with aluminum foil and then carefully reinsert them without tearing the foil. This makes cleaning even easier. Regularly remove the old foil and replace it. Then you'll enjoy your grill for a long time.
Storing the gas grill in winter
Storing the gas grill in winter
If you don't grill during the winter, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the grill after each use and removing as much grease and dirt as possible from all parts. Ideally, the grill should then be stored in a garden shed or covered shelter for the winter. In any case, additional protection with a grill cover is recommended.
If no shelter is available, a good grill cover (e.g. the premium covers from Campingaz) protects the grill in winter as well as in summer.
But honestly, who would want to miss out on grilling in winter?!
Cool boxes
How long does the cooling capacity last?
How long does the cooling capacity last?
The cooling performance of passive cool boxes is measured according to the widely used standard EN 12546-2. The test is carried out by filling the cool box with water to half its nominal capacity (normal tap water) at 5°C and an ambient temperature of 32°C.
The power rating (given in hours) indicates the time it takes to reach 15°C inside the cooler. Several Freez'Packs are frozen at -19°C and then placed in the cooler with water to simulate some of the usage conditions.
The procedure is different for electric cool boxes because the cooling works differently. Here, we measure the so-called "Delta T" between the ambient temperature and the internal temperature. For example, the "Delta T" for our 24L and 28L electric cool boxes is 20 degrees Celsius. Therefore, if the outside temperature is 25 degrees Celsius, the internal temperature of the 24/28L cool box would be 3 degrees Celsius.
Why does condensation form in the cooler?
Why does condensation form in the cooler?
Condensation is primarily caused by the temperature difference between the inside of the cooler and the ambient temperature outside. This is especially true for electric coolers.
To counteract the formation of mold and unpleasant odors caused by moisture and condensation, Campingaz & Coleman cool boxes are equipped with an antimicrobial coating.
Can medication be transported in it?
Can medication be transported in it?
This has not been tested. We therefore advise against transporting medications in our coolers and cannot accept liability.
air mattresses
Why does my air mattress lose air overnight?
Why does my air mattress lose air overnight?
Air mattresses often appear to lose air even though there is no hole - and this has physical reasons:
1) Temperature differences: Air expands when heated and contracts when cooled. If you inflate an air mattress in warm conditions and later use it in a cooler environment or at night, the temperature of the air inside will drop. This reduces the volume and pressure – the mattress will feel “softer”, even though no air is escaping.
2) Material expansion: The PVC or vinyl of the air mattress can expand slightly under load or temperature changes. This increases the interior space, which also reduces the pressure.
3) Microscopic diffusion: Even without a visible hole, air can diffuse through tiny pores in the material over time. This is normal and occurs in almost all air-filled products. In short: It's usually not a defect, but simply physics.
Should you suspect a hole in the material, do the following: Check the air mattress for possible holes and punctures by applying soapy water with a sponge. If there is a puncture, the escaping air will cause the soapy water to bubble, allowing you to locate the hole. Seal the hole with a repair kit.
Our recommendation: Inflate the bed a few hours before use so that the material can expand. Then add a little more air just before going to sleep, and the bed will retain its desired firmness overnight.

My inflatable tent has water pooling at the base of each pole. Does this mean it's leaking?
My inflatable tent has water pooling at the base of each pole. Does this mean it's leaking?
This is a very common question and in most cases does not mean that your tent is leaking.
At night, while you sleep, condensation forms because the warm air you exhale comes into contact with cold air and turns into water.
This water collects on the tent poles and then runs down, where it pools at the base. The best way to prevent this is to ensure as much ventilation as possible inside the tent. Open the vents at the back, front, and sides of the tent to allow air to circulate.
I've seen other blackout sleeping cabins on the market. Why are Coleman's BlackOut Bedroom sleeping cabins different, and why should I choose them over the other options?
I've seen other blackout sleeping cabins on the market. Why are Coleman's BlackOut Bedroom sleeping cabins different, and why should I choose them over the other options?
While many tent manufacturers have followed this example and produced sleeping cabins with dark inner fabric, Coleman's BlackOut Bedroom sleeping cabins are manufactured with a specially developed coating on the outer tent that ensures that 99% of daylight does not enter the sleeping area of the tent.
By blocking out external light, Coleman's BlackOut Bedrooms also keep out the sun's heat on hot summer days. This technology helps regulate the temperature while you sleep, keeping the indoor temperature 5°C cooler during the day and 1°C warmer at night.
