Healthy grilling - gluten-free, low-cholesterol, low-carb

Healthy grilling with colorful vegetable skewers on a gas or electric grill

Healthy grilling - and still delicious!

Grilling is not only fun, it can also be really healthy! Here are our top inspirations for healthy and delicious food from the grill:

Vegetarian and vegan

Not new, but still an absolute hit: Why not swap sausages and steak for delicious vegetable skewers? There are no limits to your imagination here, and everyone can combine ingredients as they please: Mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, onions, corn, bell peppers, pineapple... simply combine and enjoy according to your taste. There is also a large selection of vegan meat alternatives for the grill now. Our tip: Still pay attention to the calories and check the ingredients. Or simply marinate tofu yourself!

Low Carb grilled food such as chicken breast and vegetables on a skewer

Low Carb

With vegetables and lean meat like chicken breast, you're on the safe side here. The only thing you should avoid is baguette. Instead, why not simply have tzatziki and a crispy green salad as a side dish? Grilled cheese, feta, or goat cheese also taste fantastic from the grill. Also not to be neglected: fish. Grilled salmon fillet is not only delicious but can also be marinated in many ways and prepared in a variety of ways.

Whether gas or electric grill – the right grilling technique contributes to healthy grilling and minimizes the formation of carcinogenic substances, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which can arise during grilling.

Gluten-free side dishes and fresh grilled food on the grill

Gluten-free

Fresh meat, fish, and vegetables are naturally gluten-free. If you have an intolerance, you should pay particular attention to the side dishes. Nowadays, there is gluten-free bread or even pasta for a gluten-free pasta salad. The good old baked potato is also an alternative to bread side dishes. Be careful with sauces and marinades: it's worth taking a close look at the ingredient list here or, even better, preparing them yourself.

Additionally, you can use grilling skewers to gently cook different grilled foods and reduce fat formation in the grilled food.
Low-cholesterol grilled dishes with lean meat and vegetables

Low cholesterol

Fatty meat or sausages are unfortunately taboo here. Instead of pork steak and bratwurst, you should opt for lean chicken or fish. Vegetables also complement a low-cholesterol diet from the grill. Oil is allowed in marinades, but you should use oils with a high number of unsaturated fatty acids, such as rapeseed oil.

Another important tip for healthy grilling: Use gas grills with Flamguard technology and high-performance burners. These ensure even heat, which prevents burning and reduces the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Healthy dessert from the grill - grilled pineapple and banana

Sweets for my sweet

Dessert doesn't always have to be a calorie bomb either. Grilled pineapple or banana simply taste delicious! Add a fresh low-fat quark dessert. If you prefer something more filling, try Low Carb pancakes with almond flour from the grill. While not exactly low in calories, they are almost entirely carbohydrate-free and taste simply heavenly!
