Grilling isn't just fun, it can also be really healthy! Here are our top inspirations for healthy and delicious grilled food:

Vegetarian and vegan

Not new, but still a real hit: Why not swap sausage and steak for delicious vegetable skewers? The sky's the limit, and everyone can combine as they please: mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, onions, corn, peppers, pineapple... simply mix and match to your liking and enjoy. There's also a wide selection of vegan meat alternatives for the grill these days. Our tip: Still, keep an eye on the calories and check the ingredients. Or simply marinate your own tofu!





Low-carb

Vegetables and lean meat like chicken breast are a safe bet here. Just avoid the baguette. Instead, why not simply serve tzatziki and a crisp green salad as a side dish? Grilled cheese, feta, or goat cheese also taste fantastic grilled. Also not to be neglected: fish. Grilled salmon fillet is not only delicious, but can also be marinated and prepared in a variety of ways.





Gluten-free

Fresh meat, fish, and vegetables are naturally gluten-free. If you have an intolerance, you should pay particular attention to the side dishes. Gluten-free bread and even pasta for a gluten-free pasta salad are now available. Good old baked potatoes are also an alternative to bread. Be careful with sauces and marinades: It's worth taking a close look at the ingredients list or, even better, preparing them yourself.





Low cholesterol

Fatty meat or sausages are unfortunately taboo here. Instead of pork steak and bratwurst, opt for lean chicken or fish. Grilled vegetables also complement the low-cholesterol diet. While oil is permitted in marinades, it's best to use oils with a high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids, such as rapeseed oil.





Sweets for my sweet

Dessert doesn't always have to be a calorie bomb, either. Grilled pineapple or banana taste simply delicious! Add it to a fresh, low-fat quark dessert. If you'd like something a little more filling, try low-carb pancakes with almond flour from the grill. They may not be exactly low in calories, but they're almost entirely carbohydrate-free and taste simply heavenly!
