Camping tips for the whole family: How to make your vacation perfect!

Camping is one of the classic family vacations. And rightly so, because it offers several advantages. Camping is usually cheaper than flying with loved ones, you get unlimited family time, and you're independent. With these tips, your vacation will not only be more relaxing, but a real highlight!

The destination – camping is not the same as camping

When camping, the choice of accommodations and pitches is also huge. It's important to know your family's needs. If you prefer a more comfortable stay, glamping, for example in a cabin, is ideal. The cheapest option is to bring your own tent. Tents with separate sleeping and living areas, such as the Aspen 4 , are particularly comfortable. If your children are particularly fond of adventure, a campsite with a swimming pool or adventure playground is a good choice. Advance booking is always recommended during the holidays – it saves time and stress. Depending on the age of the family members, you should also be careful not to over-ambitious when choosing your route and plan enough breaks. Tip: Perhaps a detour to a tourist attraction or amusement park on the way to your holiday destination would be worthwhile?

Pack like a pro

First, the bad news: There's no one-size-fits-all packing list. Children, in particular, vary greatly depending on their age and needs. The amenities of your mobile home or campsite also need to be considered. But: You can make life easier with a packing list. A checklist with the most important basics is, of course, available here in our tips and tricks . Extra tip: In addition to bicycles, handy folding scooters are also suitable for mobility for little campers on site.

Trial camping

It sounds strange, but it's worth its weight in gold: If you've never been camping with your family before or are new to camping, simply camp on your doorstep (if permitted) or in your own backyard the day before your departure. This way, you'll not only get to know your gear better, but you'll also notice if you've forgotten anything.

The camping kitchen

Many caravans and motorhomes have a small kitchenette. However, space is usually limited, and it can get a bit tight, especially when cooking for several people. Tip: Simply bring a compact gas stove or gas grill. This can be set up on a table or with its legs outside the vehicle, and you can start cooking or grilling in peace. Another advantage: The smell of cooking stays outside. You can, of course, find a large selection of suitable camping stoves in our online shop. And to ensure you don't run out of energy while on the road, you can find a gas dealer at your destination in advance.

Whether it's a weekend getaway or an annual vacation, investing time in preparation for a family camping trip will help you enjoy your vacation even more. Because nothing is more important than spending time with our loved ones!
